After a hard-fought battle in the Nigeria National League Super 8 promotion playoffs held in Asaba, the team, fondly known as “Sai Masu-gida,” earned their promotion to the prestigious NPFL by securing the runners-up position.
The promotion marks a triumphant return for Kano Pillars to the NPFL after experiencing a disappointing 2021-2022 season that resulted in their relegation to the lower league.
Seeking to build on their recent success and bolster their performance, the club is actively in pursuit of a new coach to lead the team in the top-flight league. Evans Ogenyi, the former handler, steered the team back to the NPFL, but they are now on the lookout for a fresh coaching approach.
Abdulahi Maikaba, a highly respected figure in the footballing community, is currently the frontrunner in the race to take charge of Kano Pillars.
With an impressive coaching history, particularly during his time with Rangers, Maikaba possesses the experience and acumen to guide the team towards excellence.
Joining forces with Katsina United, Kano Pillars emerged victorious in the Northern Conference, securing their well-deserved promotion to the NPFL.
As anticipation grows for the upcoming season, fans eagerly await the team’s performance in their revitalized form, donning the stylish new kits that reflect their determination to thrive in the NPFL once more.
