The already proposed friendly match between Kano Pillars Football Club and the Under 23 National team have been called off.
This is according to the Media Officer of the National Champions, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa.
Malikawa said the match that was expected to be played tomorrow, Saturday 31st August 2019 at the Sani Abacha Stadium Kofar Mata have been cancelled due to some certain circumstances.
He further stated that, because of the cancellation of the match, ‘The Sai Masu Gida’ would now be played against a newly promoted side, Jigawa Golden Stars on Sunday 1st September 2019 at Sani Abacha Stadium Kano by 4:00 pm.
He said the match was organized to congratulates Jigawa State Government and the good people of the state for the successes recorded by Jigawa Golden Stars in just concluded 2018/2020 National League.
The Kano Darlings finished the 2018/2019 NPFL campaign on second place while Jigawa Golden Stars promoted back to the elite League from the NNL in the same season of 2018/2019.
