Kamaru Usman has slammed Conor McGregor’s shameful behavior and demeaning jabs following his UFC 278 knockout loss to Leon Edwards revealing he felt for him when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier.
Not only did Mcgregor mock him, but he also criticized him for bringing his daughter to watch his defeat.
Usman suffered his first career defeat as he was knocked out by Edwards after a head kick in the final moments of the fight last month and ending his unbeaten 20-fight run.
McGregor was swift to mock Usman after the loss but the latter suggested it to be needless as he claimed that he did not ‘kick him when he was down after his defeats to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
On the Joe Rogan Experience, Usman said: “Even when he broke his leg, I didn’t kick him when he was down.”
“That’s a very tough injury. I almost felt for him. I almost wanted to send him a message and say, “Hey man, heal up, you’ll be back”. That’s just kind of who I am.
“This is a sport. At the end of the day, you’re still a human being. If I saw you on the side of the road and you needed help or something was wrong, if I could I would 100 percent try to help,” he said.
