Augustine Ogee on Bethel FC’s partnership through Kakawa Investment with Canada-based Vi-Foot Sporting Academy.
In collaboration with Kakawa Sports Investments Ltd, FC Bethel through VA Global have struck a partnership deal with Canada-based sporting company, Vi-Foot.
Chief Operating Officer of Kakawa Sports Augustine Ogee has explained how Vi-Foot’s connection with FC Bethel will help the Lagos-based club move onto the next level. In a chat with Sports247, Augustine said:
“As part of our commitment to the development of grassroots football, this partnership is meant to strengthen the youth base of teams such as FC Bethel and equally expose them to learning football in the right way’’.
He continued…….
“This partnership will allow Vi-Foot to send their specialized coaches, physiotherapists and scouts to FC Bethel on a quarterly basis to train and to equally help inculcate professional values in the lives of these youngsters from a young age knowing how important this is to them in their formative stages. At the moment, we have training materials that are currently coming into the country via this partnership both for the players and of course the coaches.”
Augustine also said that the partnership is in place to help young players ‘actualize their dreams of becoming professional footballers’. He added: “We believe this is a good way to go. We know the likes of other foreign football Academies are working with this model and we see this as a workable model in building the right way, especially with the younger teams- Under 9-15 ages.’’
“We believe in the sustainability of this model not just to ensure profitability but also to give the youngsters a purpose and a future while helping them actualize their dreams of becoming professional footballers in the long run.”
