Giresun Sanayispor midfielder Kafayat Folakemi Shittu has expressed her excitement after playing a key role in her team’s historic promotion to the Turkish Women’s Super League for the first time.

Despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Yüksekova in the final playoff game, Giresun Sanayispor secured a second-place finish in the Turkish Women’s Football League Playoff, which was enough to guarantee their promotion. Yüksekova emerged as the overall champions.
Shittu, who played a crucial role in her team’s midfield throughout the season, shared her joy after achieving the milestone.
“This is a dream come true for us. We worked so hard all season, and even though we lost the final game, securing promotion means everything. I’m grateful to my teammates, coaches, and the fans for their incredible support,” she said.
Giresun Sanayispor’s promotion marks a new chapter in the club’s history, as they prepare to compete among Turkey’s elite women’s football teams in the upcoming Super League season.
With Shittu’s impressive performances, the team will be looking to make a strong impact in their debut season at the top level.
