Kaduna Chapter of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria, SWAN, on Thursday distributed palliatives to members in the state to cushion the scourge of the lockdown necessitated by the coronavirus pandemic.
During the exercise, the Chairman of the Association, Comrade Jacob Zango, commended the effort of Kaduna SWAN’s Patron, Engr. Musa Nimrod for the show of love to members of the Association.
“We understand how difficult these trying times are, but as leaders, to whom do we owe responsibility than our members, and what responsibility do we owe them than to be accountable to them, and also to cater for them especially at a time like this, and we sincerely thanked Engr. Musa Nimrod who has shown to be a ‘true father’ for being the brain behind the palliatives”, Zango said.
While applauding the Patron for the gesture, Zango further said; “As leaders, we are not relenting in ensuring that our members are adequately taken care of, especially in the face of this hardship.
“This is just the first phase of the palliatives, we are hoping to do more, because the welfare of our members is our priority.
“We have already set-up COVID-19 Welfare and Palliatives Committee, and this is in line with the directive of SWAN President, Comrade Ahmed Aigbona.
Part of the palliatives distributed include: Rice, Spaghetti, Indomie and Yam.
