The Kaduna state FA through the 2022 ZAFA League Organising Committee is pleased to announce the commencement of registration for the State’s Zone 1 Super League in honour of Alhaji Ahmadu Maude the immediate past President of the NRA scheduled to kick off next month.
The Organising Committee during its first meeting held on Saturday the 24th day of December, 2022 at Alhuddahudda College, Zaria agreed on the following:
1- That the Competition shall comprise only invited Teams from Zone 1 of the State.
2- 24 Teams will be invited to participate in the Competition out of which 16 will play a one legged play off which will qualify 8 winners to the Round of 16.
3- That 8 Teams comprising first 4 Teams each from Groups A and B of the recently concluded 2022 ZAFA League will get automatic ticket to the Round of 16.
4- That Express International FC who came 2nd in Group A of the 2022 ZAFA League will be replaced by Kudan Rangers FC which came 5th in the same Group this is because of the 2 year ban currently imposed on Express International FC.
5- That 8 Teams 4 from each of Groups A and B who participated in the ZAFA League but weren’t in the first 4 of each of the Groups will also be invited to participate however since Kudan Rangers FC which came 5th in Group A will replace Express International FC, Marafa FC, Dan Magaji has taken over their place here in the 2nd category.
6- The 3rd category of 8 teams will comprise new invitees
7- The registration fee for the 8 Teams that got automatic place in the round of 16 is Twenty Thousand Naira (N20,000:00k)
8- The registration fee for teams in the 2nd and 3rd categories is Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000:00k) however all the 8 teams that win their play off matches and qualify to the Round of 16 will balance the remaining Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000:00k).
9- Registration for the League commences on Saturday the 24th day of December, 2022 and terminates on Sunday the 15th day of January, 2023.
10- The full Super League shall be played in designated venues across Zaria
11- All invited Teams shall be formally notified of their Invitation and are expected to indicate their willingness to participate or otherwise

2- Kudan Rangers FC, Kudan
3- Golden City, Zaria
4- Layin Zomo Academy Layin Zomo
5- Flash FC, Gaskiya
6- Boys United FC, Samaru.
7- Standard FC, Zaria.
8- Planners FC, Gyallesu
2nd Category (will play off against category 3 Teams)
1- Ikara Super Stars FC, Ikara.
2- Makarfi Pillars FC, Makarfi.
3- Marafa FC, Dan Magaji
4- ZAFAS FC, Zaria
5- Greater Tomorrow FC, Saminaka
6- Soba Sparkling FC, Soba.
7- D – Officers FC, Pambegua.
8- Strikers FC, Zaria
3rd category (will play off against category 2)
1- Ambassadors FC, Zaria.
2- Highlanders FC, Zaria
3- Young Argentina FC, Hayin Dogo, Samaru.
4- Kaka Boys FC, Chikaji
5- City Rovers FC, Pambegua.
