Kada BSC, Kebbi United, Jigawa, and Anambra Secure Opening Day Wins as 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League Kicks Off

The 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) commenced on Monday, with three teams securing victories on the opening day.

Kebbi BSL, Jigawa GS, and Anambra BSC emerged victorious in their matches held at Filin Sukuwa, Sani Abacha Bye-Pass, Birnin Kebbi.

Match Highlights

Kada BSC vs. Kebbi United BSC

The league opener saw 2022 champions Kada BSC dominate Kebbi United BSC with a commanding 10-2 victory.

Mamman James and Dozie Frank put Kada BSC ahead 2-0 before Abba Aliyu pulled one back for Kebbi United. However, Tanko Emmanuel restored Kada’s two-goal lead in the first period.

By the third period, Kada had extended their lead to 8-1, thanks to goals from Emmanuel (brace), Hamza Abubakar, Sani Jibrin, and James.

Isyaka Atiku scored Kebbi United’s second goal in the final period, but further strikes from Nura Bello and Frank sealed a resounding win for Kada BSC.

Jigawa Golden Star BSC vs. Niger BSC

In the evening match, Jigawa Golden Star BSC edged out returning side Niger BSC with a narrow 4-3 victory.

Sodiq Balogun, Hamza Bagudu, Yahaya Kamilu, and Shamsi Dahiru found the net for Jigawa Golden Star. Meanwhile, Abdullahi Atiye, Abdulazeez Manu, and Abdulazeez Nuhu kept Niger BSC in contention with a goal each.

Ibom BSC vs. Anambra

Beach Soccer Warriors
The final match of the opening day ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw between Ibom BSC and Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors.

Stanley Ekwo (brace), Chinweze Gabriel, and Emeka Ogbonna were on target for the Nnewi-based Anambra Warriors.

For Ibom BSC, Uwana Aniete (brace), Uyo Aniefiok, and Efiong Eyo found the back of the net, forcing the game into extra time.

Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors eventually triumphed 4-3 on penalties, securing a point from their first game.

The league action continues with three more matches on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
