Former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher has stated that players that will be called to camp for Nigeria’s fast approaching 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers should all be made to know the importance of getting to business and ensuring that the team sorts itself to take pole position in terms of qualifying from the group.
Christopher says the players cannot afford to simply grow complacent over night because of a good qualifying window last time out against Seychelles.
“This is a very delicate stage of the qualifiers. A lot is at stake and that means serious minded players should be handed call ups to the Super Eagles squad for the remaining games in the qualification for AFCON 2019,” Justice Christopher began in an interview with Sports247.ng.
“The team has been bouyed by the 3-0 win at Seychelles. But they must not be carried away. Complacency is a menace and definitely not an option. The boys must always respect the opposition and not have a wave of underrating them no matter the situation.”
“The Super Eagles will scale through the hurdle that awaits them in the qualifiers.”
Nigeria will face Libya in the matchday3 of the AFCON qualifiers.
