Technical Adviser Heartland Football Club of Owerri,Ilechukwu Fidelis has commended executive members of Surulere Regional League SRL for working round the clock to kick off the league after covid-19 at legacy pitch of National Stadium, Surulere,Lagos.
Fidelis said he is happy to have seen club owners,managers and coaches in Lagos to come together and form Surulere Regional League which would bring some clubs, coaches and players to limelight.
“Let me commend the effort of the executive members of SRL for the job well done.This is a laudable project which it needs support of stakeholders in the sports industry.I will continue to encourage the executive members to continue the good job they have started and If all hands must be on deck,the league would attract big sponsors in nearest future,”he said.
While commending Organisers for this lofty project,former MFM coach has promised to donate ten balls as part of his contribution to the league and advised the Organisers to organise super four or eight at the end of the league season which would attract local and foreign football scouts to see some players that are marketable.
“I will advise the Organisers to see how they can organize super four or eight after the season.i will personally come around and invite some ex international and coaches in NPFL to come around as part of my contribution.The super four or eight is going to be tough and I am ready to give my total support for the success of the league.i wish all the participating teams best of luck,”he said.
The chairman of SRL, Salau Abiodun thanked Fidelis for his support towards the league and promised that the executive members of SRL would continue to look into the issues offered by former MFM coach.
“On behalf of executive members of SRL,I thank our darling and able coach for ten balls he promised to donate as part of his contribution to the league.Also I am happy that SRL has received public commendation and we would continue to work hard for the success of the league,”he said.
