Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club of Lagos this morning arrived in Casablanca at 11 am, Morocco to honor an invitational tournament scheduled to hold in the next few days.
The team comprised 15 players and seven officials left the shore of the country around 3 am this morning and arrived in the North Africa country around 12 pm.
Team Manager of Eletu, Mufutau Eletu said the players are in high spirit and ready to do the country proud. He also urged their fans back home to continue to pray for the club in their outing in Casablanca.
“We just arrived in Casablanca this morning and we thank God for the journey mercies. The players and officials are happy about the smooth journey to Morocco. Presently the players are injury-free and they are in good shape and ready for the invitational tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile, before they left the shore of the country, Prince Kazeem Eletu FC battered Buruj FC 5-0 and beat Sugarland 4-1 in friendly matches as part of the preparation for the Moroccan tourney.
In a match played against Sugarland at Astroturf of National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Tuesday, Eletu boys were in superb form as they confirmed their superiority over their opponents.
Sugarland player, Toheeb Opaleye opened the goal account in the 20th minute to give his team an early lead.
Eletu did not waste much time as Olanrewaju Akinlade quickly got the equalizer. The equalizer spurred Eletu boys to dominate the proceeding. A goal from Abayomi Eletu and Akinlade ended the first half 3-1 in favor of the Eletu boys.
The second half witnessed missed scoring chances from both teams but Akinlade’s late strike condemned Sugarland to total defeat before the referee signaled for the final whistle.
Head Coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu, Gilles Hugon expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance saying that his team is ready for the Moroccan tourney. He admitted that the team are balanced but noted that he still needs to work on few grey areas before their opening match.
