Chinese based Manchester united loanee Odion Ighalo is set to return to his parent club for the start of a new Chinese league season sports247 gathered.
Manchester United could be without Odion Ighalo for their remaining fixtures, as Shanghai Shenhua expect him to return from his loan spell by July, according to Sky Sports. Ighalo has enjoyed fine form and has also impressed his fans and coach in his short spell at Old Trafford since joining the club on loan in January, but his deal expires next month.
As the world faces crises, United was optimistic about extending that date, to allow for the delay in completing the Premier League season due to COVID-19.
It has also been reported before now that Ighalo may want to stay longer at the Theatre of Dreams, however, Ighalo could now be summoned back at the end of his loan deal, as Shenhua want him ready for the start of the Chinese Super League season.
The only way United could keep the former Nigerian international would now be to pay the £20million price tag on his head.
It as also been said that Newcastle united are interested in the 30-year-old striker as they are set to go on a spending spree next term.
