Just-In: CAF Returns AFCON to January from 2021

Time-frames for AFCON 2021 were initially pencilled in for the summer in Cameroon, but the country’s climate during June and July has forced the CAF into a re-think.

It means the competition has now been brought forward six months to kick off in January – midway through the Premier League campaign.

AFCON 2021 will now begin on January 9 and conclude on February 6, potentially leaving Europe-based African stars away from domestic action for half-a-dozen games.
