Ram Lovers Association of Nigeria have scheduled the 23rd Annual Memorial Championship which is in honour of Late Nigerian politician and the fourteenth Are Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Chief M.K.O Abiola to hold June 12, 2022 at Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The annual competition will see rams from every part of the country engage in a charging horn battle with one another in the event known as the KURU Day.
Speaking to Sports247 Nigeria on the details of the Traditional Sport Federation Of Nigeria sanctioned event, the pioneer of the competition, Mr. Adedeji Adebayo who is the Governor of the Ram Lovers Association Of Nigeria Lagos zone, explained that the competition is a yearly event that brings together rams from various states in the country to slog it out against one another.
He also stated that the 23rd edition of the competition is being held in honour of Late Chief M.K.O Abiola.
“On June 12, we will have our program called Kuru day. It normally comes up in Ibadan, Oyo state every year and this year’s event makes it the 23rd edition which is in honour of chief MKO Abiola.
For this year’s event, we are expecting all ram charging groups all over Nigeria from Kwara, Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos e.t.c to come and participate in the 23rd edition,” he concluded.
