Coach Peter Oneyi says his team deserves all the accolades after they pipped Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney defending champions Sunshine Stars of Akure.
The victory saw Jossy United finishing third in Group B and one point behind second placed Remo Stars.
“It was a tough encounter against an experienced Owena Whales, credit to my players for their resilience and for making good use of the half chance that came their way in the 87th minute.
“We have been doing well in our games but lady luck didn’t smile at us. Sad a point denied us a place in the semi-finals, its football you win, draw or lose some.”
The former Shooting Stars and Kwara United legend poured encomiums on the organisers of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney.
“We’re glad to have made out debut in this year’s edition as it’s one of the best platform for domestics teams to expose their players viz-a-viz these lads showcasing their skills and quality.”
