Nigerian-born British heavyweight three-belt boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua has confessed that he felt on top of the world with the opportunity of meeting two former England-based soccer stars, Robin van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sports247.ng reports that, so soon after first meeting RvP last weekend on holiday in United Arab Emirates, ‘AJ’ also met CR7 in midweek and the world boxing champ is again raining lyrical.
Joshua bumped into van Persie in Dubai, while enjoying a break early in 2019, ahead of what promises to be a defining year in his career.
The WBA, WBO and IBF titlist is due to return to the ring on April 13 at Wembley Stadium, London, with domestic rival Dillian Whyte the front-runner to be in the opposite corner.
The world heavyweight champion also enjoyed a trip on a dune buggy in the Dubai desert, where he bumped into former Manchester United and Arsenal striker, van Persie.
The two sporting stars posed for a photograph, uploaded on van Persie’s Instagram account and Joshua appeared to be getting his adrenaline fix.
Joshua then filmed himself having his nostrils waxed as he relaxes, after which the 29-year-old, who last fought in September against Alexander Povetkin, could be seen enjoying a ride on a dune buggy in the desert.
Barely had he recovered from meeting RvP than Joshua would come against another former Man United ace, following Ronaldo’s night of success after he was crowned Player of the Year at the Globe Soccer Awards.
The Portuguese star attended the ceremony with fiancee Georgina Rodriguez and son Cristiano Jnr during their family retreat away.
Joshua also spent some time to unwind as he got a neck massage in preparation for his next big bout.
However, it has not been all painless for Joshua, after the 29-year-old boxer got his nostrils waxed while he is out in the United Arab Emirates.
