Dannaz FC winger Joshua Obakimi has said he feels ‘encouraged’ despite his team’s elimination from the Creative Championship Cup on Friday.
Obakimi netted a brace as Dannaz FC overcame Valiant FC 3-1 to record their only win in group B. The result was not enough for Dannaz as they finished in 4th place having drawn one and lost twice in their previous three group matches.
Speaking after the game, Obakimi said the early elimination will not weigh his team down as they look forward to what’s in front.
“I feel encouraged that we can do more if we listen to our coaches and the management. We will not allow the matches we have lost in this competition to weigh us down. We are going to come out stronger from this experience and give our best in the future,” he told Sports247.
Obakimi was elected Man of the Match as his goals made the difference in the clash. He added on his performance:
“I feel so great, thanks to my coach and the management for giving us the courage to come out to play our game despite the circumstances. They are still helping us to fight more.”
