Nigerian sprinter Joshua Caleb delivered a statement performance in the 60m heats at the NCAA Division II Championships, clocking an impressive 6.66s to secure his place in the final.

Competing in Indianapolis, Caleb looked in control as he stormed through his race, reinforcing his status as the man to beat in tomorrow’s showdown.
Joining him in the final is another Nigerian prospect, Olaolu Olatunde, who impressed in his debut season for Harding University. The freshman clocked 6.67s, narrowly behind Caleb, to book his spot in the medal race.
With the fastest qualifying time, Caleb heads into the final as the top favourite for the title, but with Olatunde also in fine form, Nigeria’s presence in the sprint event promises to be exciting. The final is set to be a thrilling contest as both sprinters aim to make history on the NCAA stage.
