Girondins-Bordeaux January signing, Josh Maja is set to benefit from the forced absences of Samuel Kalu and Yann Karamoh to star against Paris Saint-Germain this weekend.
Spoerts247.ng learnt that Maja, who arrived from Sunderland after snubbing a contract extension with The Black Cats, is set to for his full debut when PSG play host to Bordeaux on Saturday afternoon.
Maja will lead the visitors’ attack, on an evening they would aim to inflict more damage on their hosts, on the back of PSG suffering their first Ligue 1 defeat of the season last weekend.
Kalu is suspended after getting a red card at the start of the week, while Karamoh is out with similar scenario, thereby leaving space up front for Maja to lead the way in the hunt for goals.
Without Kalu in the squad, Bordeaux make the trip to Parc des Princes sitting in 12th position in the league standings and 10 points above the relegation zone.
Bordeaux have conceded just five goals in their last six away matches in the league, and an improvement in the final third will surely lead to the club breaking back into the top half of the table.
Karamoh is suspended for disciplinary reasons, and his absence may potentially lead to Bordeaux’s coach, Eric Bedouet placing faith in Maja for the first time since his January arrival from Sunderland.
The 20-year-old is regarded as one for the future by Bordeaux, but being handed a four-and-a-half-year contract suggests that Bedouet will have no fear in handing Maja his first outing at Parc des Princes.
