Sunderland of England striker, Josh Maja is now tipped to join Super Eagles rookie, Samuel Kalu at Girondins-Bordeaux of France, as fresh angles open in his long-drawn January transfer saga.
Sports247.ng reports that Maja has been in a seesaw of sorts over his next port of call, after refusing to put pen to paper on a new deal at The Stadium of Light, and a deal at Kalu’s club now appears brighter than any other before it.
Although the English Premier League quartet of Cardiff City, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham are all said to be in the hunt for Maja, the former Eagles’ invitee is on the verge of joining Kalu’s Bordeaux for a deal that could rise to £3.5m.
The 20-year-old free-scoring striker’s contract with The Black Cats is set to finish this summer, but he turned down the offer of a new contract at and Sunderland are resigned to losing their 16-goal banger.
Although Sunderland and Bordeaux are said to be haggling over details of Maja’s deal and it is understood personal terms will not be an issue.
