National judo champion, Joseph David has sent words of gratitude to the chairman of Oyo State Judo Association, Dr Musa Oshodi for standing by him in stormy weather and sunshine all through 2018.
Sports247.ng can report that David, who won thee gold medals for Oyo State in the in the +100kg category of judo at the recent National Sports festival, disclosed that Dr Oshodi has always been his biggest motivator.
David said he is now ready to step up and do well for Nigeria at the 2019 All Africa Games in Morocco.
While stating that he hopes to make Nigeria proud in Morocco, Oyo-born David pointed out that Oshodi inspires him with his pep talks.
He expatiated: “The former vice-president of the Judo Federation, Dr Musa Oshodi has always been my source of motivation.
“After I missed the trip to Congo, he kept on encouraging me and told me never to give up on my dreams
“Before the National Sports Festival, my mind set was to win gold and qualify for the 12th All African Games.
“I am happy that I accomplished my target. I am ready for the games, I train everyday whether there is a tournament or not. This is to keep me fit for the task ahead.”
