The importance of football especially at the grassroots transcends the overemphasized financial benefit when young players go professional and signed by a top football team.
Ekiti Football seeks to tap into some of these other benefits by using football as a veritable tool to develop talents and inculcate all-around excellence in children in the state.
The chairman of Ekiti State Football Association Mr. Bayo Olanlege stated this during an interactive session with parents of the thirty players selected to be part of the Jos Chillin Cup 2020 scheduled to hold in Jos, Plateau State.
The award-winning FA boss also stressed that the competition will provide a long-lasting experience and competitive exposure to the boys.
He appreciated the parents and guardians for releasing their children to be part of the football event.
He further used the opportunity to once again appreciate the generous individuals who have given financial support so that the trip would be possible.
In his remarks, one of the parents, Mr. Oluwafemi Omotayo who commended the Ekiti FA led by its chairman, Mr. Olanlege congratulated the future stars and their parents for the great opportunity.
Another parent, Mrs. Florence Afuye passionately urged the parents and guardians to continue to support their wards’ passion so as to help them achieve great success.
The parents jointly offered some words of prayers to the team and advised the officials who are traveling with the children to monitor the players with the utmost care during the competition.
