The Ijebu-Ode Grammar School Old Boys Association (JOGSOBA) recently marked a historic milestone with the celebration of its 112th Founders’ Day and the 1st Annual Reunion.
Held in an atmosphere brimming with excitement and nostalgia, the event showcased the association’s enduring legacy and dedication to excellence.
Alumni from across the globe gathered to honor the occasion, with the venue exuding glitz, glamour, and a sense of unity that has defined JOGSOBA since its inception.
In his address, the National President of JOGSOBA, Otunba Ayokunle Bolujoko, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the unwavering support of members, both young and old, noting their contributions have been instrumental to the association’s growth.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee, Dr. Sunday Olugbenga Olu-Daniels, also described the event as a remarkable gathering, worthy of pride and celebration for all members.
One of the event’s highlights was the awards ceremony, which honored distinguished individuals for their exceptional contributions to the association, the school, and society at large.
Recipients included Oba Oluremi Owolabi Obayomi (Elese of Ilese Ijebu), Mrs. Yetunde Olusanya, Mr. Laide Onanuga, as well as the JOGS 78/83, 88/93, and 95/01 sets.
These awards celebrated individual excellence while showcasing the collective impact of the JOGSOBA community across various sectors, including education and entrepreneurship.
The celebration featured captivating live performances by Mr. Impression Band, inspiring speeches, and heartfelt tributes to the association’s founders and past leaders.
Attendees reveled in the rich history of the school and reminisced about lifelong friendships formed over the years.
The 112th Founders’ Day was a powerful tribute to the vision of JOGSOBA’s founding members, reaffirming their legacy and highlighting the association’s commitment to unity, purpose, and growth.
Among the notable dignitaries in attendance were Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu (Commissioner for Education), TPL Tunji Odunlami (Commissioner for Urban and Regional Planning), Engr. Deji Ashiru, Oba Oluremi Obayomi (Elese of Ilese Ijebu), and Mr. Odubiyi Oduyemi (APC Senatorial PRO)honourng others.
