The coach of the newly-promoted NPFL side Jigawa Golden Stars, Rabiu Tata has revealed that his player Ibrahim Saleh winning the man of the match in two consecutive games is a pointer that his team will not be pushovers when the 2019/2020 NPFL season starts.
He revealed this after his team’s 1-0 loss to Nasarawa United at the on-going Ahlan Cup pre-season tournament in Kano.
“A lot of people applauded our style of play despite the loss. It was an entertaining game and we are progressing. However, I will work on the final touches of the ball to deliver the goals” Tata said.
He reiterated that football is not all about the experience but determination and his player Ibrahim Saleh being exceptional in two consecutive games is a pointer to that fact.
Jigawa Golden stars sit at the bottom of Group A with just one point from a draw with Katsina United with neighbours like Katsina United, Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United in the same group.
Matches continue in the Kano Pillars and the Sanni Abacha Stadium on Wednesday.
