The National President of Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club (ANFASSC), Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi has sent congratulatory messages to the chairman, Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), Engr. Habu Ahmed Gumel who has been decorated with the “‘Order of The Rising Sun, Gold Rays Neck Ribbon’” by the Japanese Emperor Hironomiya Naruhito.
The decoration took place in Abuja where Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Kazuyoshi Matsunaga did the presentation on behalf of the Japanese Emperor.
In his words, the National President of ANFASSC, Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi described the NOC President as a man who has continued to fly Nigeria’s flag among comity of nations
He said “Engineer Gumel is already an household name who has paid his dues, he deserves every bit of recognition that comes his way”
“It’s always good to see Nigerians in the News for the right reasons, so on behalf of everyone at ANFASSC, we say congratulations, and we look forward to this new cap, rubbing off positively on our dear country”
The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria Kazuyoshi Matsunaga also made it known that the NOC president deserved the decoration in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and Nigeria through sports.
