Secretary of Olukismet Football Club of Ekiti, Bright Abiodun has expressed assurance that his team would entertain Lagos fans with good football in the forthcoming coming Jagaban Cup scheduled to kick off 15, November at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
The four days football tournament is packaged by 36 Lion FC and Diamond Sports as part of their support for All Progressive Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of next year presidential general elections.
Ten teams are selected to take part in the much anticipated scouting football tournament.
Abiodun while chatting with sports 247.ng explained that Olukismet had started early preparation for the Jagaban Cup saying that the players and coaching crew led by Oladeji Atobaje are in Akure for friendly matches.
“Our team are currently in Akure.We played Sunshine in friendly match recently and ended goalless.We still have some matches to play to keep the players fit.I think Lagos fans should expect good football from us when Jagaban Cup begins,”he said.
Asked what is the target of the club in the Jagaban Cup, Abiodun quickly revealed that Olukismet are coming to Lagos to market and expose the players.
“Our expectations are to expose and bring our players to limelight.We are not coming to Jagaban Cup to beat all the clubs but rather to give our players an opportunity to market themselves because the tourney would attract foreign scouts,”he said.
Among the clubs expected in the Jagaban Cup are Smart City, MFM, Jo Sportyne, Ikorodu City, 36 Lion, Messiah FC and Badagry United
