The second edition of the Jagaban Cup, a prestigious football tournament in Nigeria, is set to kick off from March 26 to March 29, 2024, at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.

The tournament, powered by 36 Lion Investment, Diamond Sports Management Limited, IFMM, and Lagos Enigma Group, will feature the top eight clubs in Nigeria vying for one giant trophy.
The participating teams include Ikorodu FC, Broad City FC, Smart City FC, 36LION FC, Mavlon FC, DinO Sporting Club, Imperial FC, and The Charlesann FC. These teams will showcase their skills to top European scouts present at the tournament, with the hope of being invited to Europe for trials.
The previous edition of the Jagaban Cup was a resounding success, with scouts from Belgium, Turkey, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, and the Czech Republic in attendance. Several players were invited for trials abroad, resulting in the signing of deals. One notable player who participated in the first edition is Sochi wing back Solomon Agbalaka.
Chief Organizer, Hajj Gafar Liameed, expressed optimism about the upcoming tournament during a media briefing. He stated, “The scouts were happy with the standard that they saw in 2022 and believe there are many untapped potentials in Nigeria.” He further added that the clubs are ready to play the competition due to the opportunities and exposure it offers.
Liameed also highlighted the success story of Flying Eagles defender Solomon Agbalaka, a product of the Jagaban Cup, who has excelled in his stint at Sochi. “We are proud that he is a player who shone at the Jagaban Cup,” he said.
The aim of the Jagaban Cup is to provide opportunities for players to excel in their careers and take the next steps to success. The tournament also serves as a unifying factor for Nigerian youths, with massive feedback received from the first edition.
