Chief Operating Officer (C.E.O) of JACBOXING Entertainment Promotions, Ike Enwereuzor has admitted that a lot of work still needs to be done in Boxing here in Nigeria, if it is to produce Boxing Superstars.
JACBOXER Entertainment promotions is a Boxing entertainment promotion company based in the United States of America (U.S.A) and is set up to promoting boxers and upcoming future boxers, so as to enable them to actualize their dreams of becoming not only professional boxer but also a successful boxer as well.
The Organization visited Nigeria this year (2021) and has planned numerous Boxing events across various states in the country, which tends to carry out its activities of helping to promote boxers from the Grassroot, as well as future Boxing superstars.
In a Chat with Sports 247, the Amazing C.E.O, who is so passionate in terms of promoting Grassroot boxers stated that he and his crew are planning to organize Boxing tournaments in various states across the country, so as to help promote young and potential future boxing talents in the states. He also admitted that there is still a lot of work to be done here in Nigeria, in terms of boxing, saying that it is time for us to go back into Grassoot Boxing to help scout for young and future boxing talents.
“I wish to thank all the fans and supporters of boxing for their patience. Last year wasn’t a good year, as Covid 19 affected everything around the world”.
“In 2021, here in Nigeria, we are looking to do a lot of things. We are in communication with many states in Nigeria to organize some grassroots Boxing. Let’s start from the bottom and see what we can bring to the tap. If we build a good foundation, I think we will have a better generation”.
“Our whole idea is always building today for tomorrow, not building tomorrow for today. We are going to start with Grassroot Boxing. We are in communication with Kano State, Delta State, Abia State, Enugu State, Lagos State, and Akwa Ibom State. We intend to do many things with states and many more to come.
“I still give some credits to Professional boxing in Nigeria. But there is still a lot of mismanagement in handling Nigerian Professional Boxing. So we have to go back to the root to find the up and coming boxers who will become the next generation and next boxing superstars. We have to start from the grassroots, just like everything we do in life, you have to start from the bottom. If you try to start from the top, then you are bound to have some problems”.
“I won’t say that Nigerian Boxing is a total failure, they have been doing their best to make something happen in professional boxing. But there is still a lot of work to be done, so it is time for us to go back to grassroots boxing”, he admitted.
JACBOXING Entertainment Promotions will hope for a successful boxing tour across various states in Nigeria, as they aim to continue their vision of promoting Grassroot Boxing in various states, so as to becoming Professional Boxers in the future.
