One of the players shining like a star in Magboro Football Club, Oluwagbotemi Iyiola has revealed that he hoped to start his professional career in Belgium in the nearest future.
He said this after his successful outing at the just concluded Ikeja championship where the club qualified for the super four playoffs.
Iyiola who scored five goals so far in the championship told Sports247 that playing in the Belgian league would help him to improve his performance and noted that Belgium is among the countries in Europe that focus more on young players.
“In the next few years, I see myself in Europe. If you asked me which country I prefer to play in my professional career, I will say Belgium. This is a country that focuses more on young players and I wish and hope to start my professional career in the country,” he said.
Commenting on his performance at the just concluded Ikeja championship, the 17-year-old winger said he had a successful season saying that scoring five goals in the league gave him joy.
“It was a good outing for me and my colleagues. When we came to the league nobody gave Magboro a chance but against all odds, we finally qualified for the super four playoffs where we would fight to promote to the super league. On my performance, it was a very good one and I am happy that we would play in the play-off very soon,” he said.
