Nigerian football international and Espérance Sportive de Tunis winger Anayo Iwuala, has donated cash to his former home club Excellent football club of Ughelli Delta State.
He said the donation was his own way of supporting the effort of Mr Onome James and the team.
Presenting the donation to the CEO of Excellent football club Mr Onome James after a training session with the team in Ughelli, Iwuala, who recently put pen to paper for Espérance Sportive de Tunis said he is happy to have sealed his new move to Tunisia and encouraged the players to be focused on their game.
“I am happy to be back to where it all started and to see you all. I thank God for the journey so far and I want you all to know that with discipline and focus, you can all achieve great things.”
Iwuala gave an assurance that he would not stop at the donation, but that there would be more from him in the nearest future urging the Excellent football academy U-17 team that will participate in the Tournoi International de Football Koumassi TIK K Tournament in Ivory Coast to be good ambassadors.
Excellent FC CEO Mr Onome James commended Anayo Iwuala for the gesture, saying that it was not only a worthy and noble act of selfless service, but a clear demonstration of his commitment to Nigeria, Delta State and most especially Excellent football club.
He added, “We are all delighted to welcome Anayo Iwuala back home. As you are aware, he is a product of Excellent FC and we are grateful that he has deemed it necessary not just to remember us but to also come home to extend this selfless service to us.
