Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has gained high ratings from various top pundits, in spite of his side’s alarming 5-1 loss away to Liverpool.
Sports247.ng can report that Iwobi has been consoled with top marks in major reviews, after getting an assist and putting up a good individual performance in a very poor Arsenal outing at the Anfield on Saturday.
In spite of his return to personal brilliance, though, Iwobi could not save The Gunners from an implosion, after scoring the game’s first goal, only to crumble against a rampant Liverpool, who extended their lead at the top of the English Premier League log to nine points.
Iwobi provided the assist for Ainsley Maitland-Niles for Arsenal’s goal in the 11th minute, but his efforts were the only positives from a hugely disappointing match for The Gunners.
One of the reviews in Iwobi’s favour read in part: “(He was) involved early on as he stung the palms of Alisson before teeing up Maitland-Niles with a wonderful ball across the face of goal.
“Certainly one of the team’s better players on the pitch with his positive running. 6.”
The Gunners’ fans site added: “Iwobi 6/10. Our best outfield player – which wasn’t a difficult award to win. Was our only real threat and set-up the goal with a lovely cross for Maitland-Niles.”
