Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi was back to top form at the weekend, and outshine every other Nigerian in England, as he netted his second goal in the English Premier League this season.
Sports247.ng reports that Iwobi shook off a recent drop in form to make hay for The Gunners, who hen helped to a 3-1 victory against Burnley, while every other Nigerian player struggled on personal levels.
However, it was also glorious on the team level for Leicester City duo, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, as they won 1-0 away to Chelsea, who still have Victor Moses out in their locker room.
In reviews of all matches involving Nigerian players, Iwobi got above average citations for his performance against Burnley:
One of the reviews stated: “Alex Iwobi. Replaced Lacazette late on and sealed the win with a lovely finish in stoppage time. 6.”
While there was no rating for Iheanacho, after he got off The Foxes’ bench to replace lone goal getter, Jamie Vardy, Ndidi was eulogised.
It was a 7 out of 10 for Ndidi, who came close to scoring in his side’s shock away win, but had a spectacular shot tipped over for a corner.
One of the citations read: “With Hamza Choudhury joining Nampalys Mendy and Wilfred Ndidi in a midfield three, Leicester had the power and purpose needed to compete physically with the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante in the Chelsea engine room.”
