Arsenal of England attacker, Alex Iwobi is still in the mind of The Gunners’ gaffer, Unai Emery for this week’s English Premier League clash against Bournemouth, despite copping an injury at the weekend.
Emery stated as much in the wake of Iwobi limping off in his side’s 2-0 win against Southampton on Sunday, but the Spanish tactician says he is hoping to still have the Super Eagles’ star available on Wednesday.
Sports247.ng gathered further that Emery is holding out that Iwobi only suffered a knock, nothing serious or much to worry about, after the star bowed out in pain in the 74th minute, following an opponent’s tackle.
That put a dent to Iwobi’s 24th English Premier League appearance and another personally outstanding outing at Emirates Stadium, London.
He was part of an attacking trident of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alexandre Lacazette, with Iwobi getting into good positions and linking well in both attack and midfield.
Iwobi rated seven over ten, with a shot on goal, a pass success rate of 83 percent and all-round top grades, before making way for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang due to the knock he copped.
In his post-match reaction, Emery stated: “I hope it’s only one knock and not a more important injury. I hope he can play Wednesday.”
