Arsenal attacker, Al;ex Iwobi has revealed that The Gunners’ gaffer, Unai Emery is not strict about a reported ban on the players drinking fruit juice as part of their daily diet.
Sports247.ng gathered that though Iwobi did not state categorically whether Emery charged the players to stop drinking juice, the SXuper Eagles star said he continues taking it because the gaffer is flexible.
Iwobi hinted that rather than make it a tight restriction on the players, Emery would actually advice for moderation and remind the lads that they need to keep themselves personally in shape.
Following his assist on Saturday, Iwobi helped Arsenal eke out a 1-1 draw at home with Liverpool, and The Gunners are now unbeaten in nine straight games and moved to fifth in the standings with 23 points.
At a point when the team lost their first two games of the season to Manchester City and Chelsea, it had been reported that Emery banned the players from drinking fruit juice at the team’s canteen so as to closely monitor their fitness levels.
However, Iwobi has now stated that those reports were exaggerated, as he marvels over their ability in getting eight points from various losing positions this season, the best in the Premier League.
Iwobi said it is basically down to additional efforts put in by all the players since the arrival opf Emery, whose tactics and player management strategies make life conducive for them all.
Iwobi stressed: “I keep reading that juice is banned but we do get it in the morning and there’s even juice in here, so he’s not too strict.
”We’re giving shift in work and the intensity. The coach demands a lot, not just in matches but in training, and results show on the pitch.”
