Arsenal of England attacker, Alex Iwobi has declared that his team are capable of scoring four goals in every English Premier League match they played, because he believes they have the right quality to achieve it.
Sports247.ng reports that Iwobi was in buoyant mood, after getting an assist in The Gunners’ 4-1 spanking of Fulham on New Year’s Day, such that the Super Eagles’ star believes his team to repeat the feat often.
Although Tuesday’s victory came on the heels of a humbling 5-1 loss away to Liverpool last weekend, Iwobi is defiant, as he insists Arsenal are a team capable of achieving a rain of goals, due to the quality of their strikers.
Iwobi admitted he should have scored against Fulham at Emirates, he was quick to add that he is satisfied with the team’s outstanding response in the wake of their scandalous loss to Liverpool at Anfield.
The 22-year-old, who has 18 appearances this season for Arsenal scored twice, missed three chances to add to his tally this season on Tuesday.
Goals from Granit Xhaka, Alexandre Lacazette, Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped Arsenal to their second win in six games, to the delight of Iwobi, who has a goal and two assists in his last four games.
Iwobi, who got an assist for Arsenal’s opener in the game, said their eight win of the campaign under Unai Emery showed that the squad regained a high level of confidence after their defeat by Liverpool.
Iwobi stressed: “It was a good performance from the team, and a great response after the defeat we had. So, it was a good result.
“They had a few chances and a few good spells, but we were resilient and able to ward them off.
“Yes, we had a few chances and with the attackers we have, we will always have those. But we were able too get four and that is enough.
“We like to make sure our opponents are scared to come to the Emirates, and we have kept that going and it’s a great win for us and for the fans.
“(We want) to keep on having performances like this, keep strong and take it step by step and see where we are in 2020.”
