MFM FC of Lagos were held to a barren draw by FC Ebedei of Sagamu in the 1st game of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.
The Olukoya Boys will rue their misses as they should have killed the game at either half.
It new gaffer, Tony Bolus in a post-match chat said: “It’s not a bad start as my team is relatively new. We are in the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney to know the strength and weakness of the players we have.
“I wouldn’t say my players were wasteful at goal with the number of chances created rather its good omen for my team.
“If we didn’t create chances in the game then it becomes a problem.
“The tourney is a good platform for us and other domestic teams in the Nigeria league. What we need do now that we have seen the few lapses in the team is to find solutions to them.
“I must say that on two occasions I tried to feature in the Ogunjobi Gold Cup but due one or two circumstances it didn’t work out. Glad that I finally made it as the tourney is of high standards.”
MFM FC next game is on Saturday against Kwara Utd at 2pm local time.
