“It was a difficult match because we played against Cameroon. It was a big match and today we didn’t have the energy, but together we will go to win this match. We started a very tired match, but together we will win this match.”
Reflecting on the intense game against Algeria, Agathe highlighted the team’s resilience and unity as key factors behind their unexpected triumph.
“The motivation is… I don’t know this power. They are all girls. There are some girls who don’t play and they give us this power. Now we prepare for the match against Angola.”
Looking ahead to their upcoming match against Angola, Melissa Agathe acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by the opposing team, widely regarded as one of the best in Africa.
Despite the tough competition, she expressed confidence in her team’s ability to perform under pressure and strive for victory.
“Angola is a good team. It’s the best team in Africa for handball. For this match, we will take pressure and take it into the final at the African Games. It’s a pleasure to lead that team.”
