The head Coach of Lobi stars football club Markudi Coach Gbenga Ogunbote spoke passionately about the unjust non inclusion of the indigenous players in the Super Eagles.
He spoke of recent in a social media platform Sports World
” If given a level playing ground , the domestic players will do well in the national team.
It is an indictment on the LMC , coaches and even the players if they have no representation in the super Eagles.
The existence of the NPFL is uncalled for and should be scrapped”
He further explained that it is difficult to wake up some one that is sleeping.
“If the same player travels abroad even as low as 1,000 dollars, they will get a look in at the national team”
Case studies with the late coach Stephen keshi and Siasia gives credence that indigenous players can do well ”
He reteriated that it is heart warming that the NFF has made it compulsory for Rohr to assess the NPFL players for the national team.
” It will also help to limit the unsruplyous cheap movement of players abroad because they can earn more in the NPFL and still have the opportunity to play in the Super Eagles if they show quality.
Something drastic must be done to stop this discouraging trail he passionately lamented.
