“It has been an amazing season through which we were able to showcase our talents, and play with top-quality teams, it has been great so far.”
He reflected on the intensity of the matches and the privilege of facing off against renowned clubs like Mavlon FC and Real Sapphire.
When asked about his most memorable and disappointing moments of the season, Chukwu pointed to their match against Valiant as the most disappointing due to a personal mistake that led to a draw in the final minutes of the game.
Conversely, he highlighted the match against Mavlon FC as the best game, noting the challenge and intensity of the competition.
Looking towards the future of the team after the NLO, Chukwu expressed confidence in their improvement throughout the season, citing their resilience and dedication to continuous improvement.
“During this league, we have had our challenging moments. We started the league casually and lost our first game against First Bank and after that first game, we never lost again.
We have been improving after that first game, working hard and our efforts have been showing in the subsequent matches.”
He also shared his personal goals of playing professionally one day, hoping to build on the form he gained during the NLO season.
Reflecting on the lessons learned, Chukwu emphasized the importance of speed and focus in his position as a center-back.
He acknowledged the unforgiving nature of the game, where any lapse in concentration could result in conceding goals.
With this awareness, Chukwu Sunday aims to enhance his performance by remaining alert and focused throughout the entirety of the match, striving to elevate his game in future seasons.
