Glasgow Rangers of Scotland are set to add to the Nigerian connections by making a January move for Dominic Iorfa Jnr from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After sealing loan deals for Ovie Ejaria and Sadiq Umar last summer, The Gers are already in the hunt for Dominic Solanke from Liverpool, and now want to add Iorfa to the mix.
Sports247.ng gathered that Rangers’ coach, Steven Gerrad is keen on adding the Nigerian-born ubiquitous defender to his squad roster in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old has made 93 first-team appearances for Wolves, but is now out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo since his return from loan at Ipswich Town and yet to make a single outing at Molineux.
On the other hand, Gerrard wants Iorfa at Ibrox when the window re-opens early next year, and Wolves admit the former England under-21 international and could be available for a fee in the region of £500,000.
Iorfa represented Ipswich Town in the Championship on 23 occasions during the last campaign and Wolves now risk losing him for nothing in the summer when his contract expires.
All indications are now showing that Carl Onuoha Ikeme’s former club could look to cash in on Iorfa when the window opens on New Year’s day, January 1, 2019.
