The third module of the 6th edition of the Advanced Sport Management Course commenced on Tuesday 15th and will run till Thursday, 17th November, 2022 at the Nigeria Olympic Committee, NOC Conference Room, National Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.
Declaring the session open, Engineer Habu Ahmed Gumel, the President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), advised participants to make good use of the knowledge acquired on completion while also inviting more stakeholders to partake in the course because of its quality and importance to the growth and development of sports administrators cum administration.
In a release signed by Phemmy Adetula, the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Olympic Committee, the course, an initiative of the International Olympic Committee through Olympic Solidarity and the National Olympic Committees is designed to equip sports administrators with the technical know how of the latest administrative structures that can deliver the support needed by the athletes, administrators and all relevant stakeholders. It is also expected to bring about change and improvement in their sports organisations.
The training is based on Managing Olympic Sport Organizations manual which comprises of six chapters. The course requires a minimum of 9 residential (contact days and at least 6 distance-self-learning) with the course to be conducted over a maximum of 12 months.
This edition of the programme which is on-site and in virtual space is anchored by the two International Olympic Committee Certified Course Directors, Prof Fasan Clement and Mr. Dyagas Jonathan with other invited speakers.
