Following the inclusion of eight NPFL players in the Super Eagles international friendlies against Mexico and Ecuador Austin Oladapo, Enyimba Football Club captain has revealed his excitement as he explained that it shows that they are being monitored and thier performances closely recognized by NFF.
The Duo of Victor Mboama, Ojo Olorunleke from Enyimba were among eight players invited to the squad.
Speaking exclusively to Sports247, Oladapo who wasn’t invited despite consistent outstanding performance revealed that it’s a thing of joy to see his teammate Inclusion, ” I am so proud of him, it shows there’s progress in the team.”
“Everyone deserves a spot because we have seen so many outstanding players in the league this season. With the right attitude, character, when the time is right, I will be there, no need to worry or be over worked.”
“We are really happy that the players are getting the recognition deserved, kudos to the league management, NFF, it gives us the upward trajectory to keep doing more, give our best,’ he explained.
The three –time African champions will clash with CONCACAF powerhouse Mexico at the AT & T Stadium in Dallas, State of Texas on Saturday, 28th May, before flying to New Jersey to tackle Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison on Thursday, 2nd June.
Only 25 players will make the final list for the tour, which is preparatory to next month’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sierra Leone in Abuja (9th June) and São Tomé & Príncipe in Marrakech, Morocco (13th June).
