The match, held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, saw Inter Lagos defeat former champions Ikorodu City in an intense encounter. However, celebrations took an ugly turn when some Inter Lagos supporters stormed the VIP section, causing disruptions that left dignitaries, stakeholders, and top government officials in shock and disappointment.
Following the incident, the Disciplinary Committee of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) convened on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Surulere Secretariat to address the matter. Chaired by LSFA Vice-Chairman Mr. Adedotun Coker, the committee deliberated extensively on the act of indiscipline, which tarnished the competition’s reputation.
Despite a plea for leniency from Inter Lagos’ management, led by club President Lanre Vigor and General Manager Gabriel Adigwe, the committee imposed a N1 million fine on the club. Additionally, Inter Lagos must issue a public apology to the Lagos State football community via media channels.
The ruling underscores the LSFA’s commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding the integrity of football in the state.
