The new Permanent Secretary of Edo Sports Commission and General Coordinator, Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens FC Mrs Sabina Chikere accompanied by family and friends as well as players and officials of Bendel Insurance and Edo Queens,today offered thanks to God for her new position as Permanent secretary in Edo state public service.
As early as 7:00 am, the Cathedral was already full,with her well wishers, family members,some government functionaries as well as Insurance and Edo Queens who added colours to the Thanksgiving service with their colourful new kits.
The Thanksgiving service held at the Government House,Benin Chapel.
Delivering the message he titled , ‘The Promises of God,’ the chapel Chaplain, Rev.Fr Andrew Obiyan described Mrs Chikere Sabina’s elevation as ‘opportunity meet preparation ‘. He advised the civil servants, appointees and workers generally to always remain focused and dedicated to their duties so that when the opportunities for elevation presents itself,they are found qualified and worthy to be considered.
He extolled Sabina’s qualities, saying that members of the church can even attest to her high level of discipline and commitment to the things of God including development and progress of Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens .
” Sabina Chikere often comes to book for prayers session for Bendel Insurance FC particularly each time they have important matches to play. Her elevation to the post of Permanent Secretary, to me is reward for hardwork. If she was not qualified and prepared for such position, maybe she would not have been considered by the state Governor who gave the final approval,irrespective of her relationship with the Deputy Governor Rt Hon Comrade Philip Shaibu. We thank our Governor Mr Godwin Obaseki for this opportunity for our sister.” Fr Obiyan enthused.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the Thanksgiving service,the Sports Commission PS Mrs Chikere expressed her appreciation to the Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, his Deputy Governor Rt, Hon Comrade Philp Shaibu and to God for His benevolence to her.
Sabina, stressed that it has been by Divine Grace that the state government found her worthy to be among the team players, and that it calls for the thanksgiving and celebrations.
” I will ever remain grateful to God and the Governor of Edo state,and his Deputy for the honour done me by rewarding my effort with the new position. The government has further challenged and encouraged me to do more for the state. And we will continue to drive the process of the state government development agenda to ensure efficiency and desired results.” She promised.
