As Bendel Insurance FC of Benin prepares to begin 2020/2021 on Saturday with their first game against Joy Cometh of Lagos, the Deputy Governor of Edo state Rt Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu has urged the Benin Arsensls to look and think beyond NNL in order to realise the club’s set goal this season.
The deputy Governor gave them the advice on Wednesday evening during the Insurance training session at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
As part of his style of motivation, the deputy Governor usually spare time to train with both Insurance and Edo Queens.
” As we start the league on Saturday, I expect you to play with confidence and see yourselves as topflight players. See yourselves as NPFL players because that’s where you belong.
We have played against Enyimba, Rangers, Katsina Utd, and others in the NPF before, so I want you to stamp that authority as NPFL team anytime we face any opponent home or away.
When you do that with our support and encouragement as usual, and with luck on our side, we will be where we want to be.
I assure you of our continuous support. So, you need to win for yourselves; win for me; win for the Governor and for the people. ” The Deputy Governor enthused.
Insurance and opponents, Joy Cometh are no strangers to each other. They met in Lagos at the beginning of the aborted 2019/2020 season, with Insurance having the upper hand.
However, Joy Cometh began their campaign last week with a 3-0 win over visiting Gateway Utd while Insurance were on standby
