Nigeria’s captain to the recent 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Emmanuel Oritsemeyiwa Ineh has promised to build on the silver medal he won in the triple jump event.
Although Ineh confessed to sports247.ng that he would have loved to win gold, which was his target before leaving Nigeria, he had to make do with second place.
Ineh, though, said he believes he has the potential to do better and aims to keep training harder in order to get a winner’s result next time out.
Ineh declared: “I wanted to win gold in Argentina, but I just had to make do with what I achieved.
“I won silver medal in the boys’ triple jump event, but I wanted to win gold. In fact, I told myself before travelling out from Nigeria to Argentina that I would come back home with a gold medal.
“I eventually won silver, so I must target something better next time. I will make corrections from my mistakes in Argentina and I must try to do better next time.’
