Chairman Technical Committee of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), Adedotun Coker has praised Nigeria Flamingos for their good performance and victory against Germany in the third place match of FIFA U-17 women world cup taking place in India.
Nigeria on Sunday defeated their counterpart, Germany 3-2 on penalty shootout after 3-3 at the regulation time.
Coker in a statement described the victory well deserved and called on the Federal Government through the MInistry of Sports to give the girls necessary support to further achieve their academic pursuit.
“It was a good result for Flamingos after losing to Colombia in the semi final.They fought hard against Germany and won the third place that is commendable.
“At this moment, Federal Government through the MInistry of Sports should give the girls scholarship and also give them rousing welcome for a job well done in India,”he said.
Coker in the statement stated that some of the players who are exceptionally good in the world cup should be graduated to super falconets ahead of qualifying matches.
“I think some of the players who had distinguished themselves in the world cup should be graduated to the next level so that we can have a solid falconets in the next qualifying matches,”he concluded.
