Super Falcons utility player, Glory Ogbonna has saluted the efforts of Bankole Olowookere’s led Flamingos following thier loss against Colombia at the ongoing U-17 FIFA World Cup as she further enjoins them to get the defeat off thier head for a strong third place fight against Germany.
Flamingos made history in the competition and in Nigeria having gone past the quarterfinals stage for the very first time and were on course for a final showpiece but thier dreams was dashed by Colombia.
The ALG Spor of Turkish Women’s Football Super League defender revealed that she watched them play as they lost on penalty shoot out.
“I watched them play against Colombia and they lost through penalties, it’s was so unfortunate, I really felt for them.”
“When it comes to penalties, it’s always a game of luck but they deserved thier flowers. Getting to that level is not easy, kudos to them.”
“I will encourage them to continue thier good works in thier next match against Germany for the third place, they have to put in the hardwork as seen in thier previous game in the tournament,” she enjoined.
“The hardwork which got them to this point will never be in vain, that I believe. They should just let today’s game be off thier head and wake up on thier feet to prepare for the next game,” Ogbonna advised.
