Organizers of the YUCATECO Boxing League (YBL) have announced that the first-ever champion of the league will receive a cash prize of ₦20 million.

The YBL is set to make a significant impact in Nigerian boxing by offering substantial rewards to its participants.
Chairman of YUCATECO Boxing Promotions, Omole Imadu, shared that not only will the champion earn ₦20 million, but other boxers in various weight categories will also be awarded substantial prizes for their participation in the YBL.
Winners of each weight category will receive ₦300,000, second-place finishers will earn ₦200,000, and third-place competitors will be given ₦100,000.
Additional consolation prizes will be distributed to all boxers based on their rankings at the end of the league. The YBL will also honor the best referee, coach, and boxer during the competition.
The primary objective of the YUCATECO Boxing League is to establish boxing as a premier sport in Nigeria and across Africa. Imadu emphasized the potential of boxing as a sport that can positively shape Nigeria’s image on the international stage.
He remarked, “Boxing is a very important sport and can do a lot to change the image of Nigeria abroad, and that is our plan with the league.” Imadu highlighted the league’s commitment to rewarding every participant generously and expressed a vision for continuous growth in future seasons.

The YUCATECO Boxing League Seminar is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the OLD SKOOL Hall in the Brai Ayonate Boxing Complex at the National Stadium in Lagos.
The seminar will feature several highlights, including the formal media presentation of clubs and boxers, live draws, byes for the league, and a media parley.
The YUCATECO Boxing League is set to commence on November 6 and will run for 12 consecutive weeks. The league has also planned special events during the festive periods to enhance its appeal and significance in Nigerian sports.
