Super Eagles forward Samuel Kalu is yet to kick a ball for his French Ligue 1 side Bordeaux due to his mental state after the abduction of his mother in Nigeria.
Although his mother has been released by her abductors, Kalu is yet to get a game since that incident and latest reports indicate that he is battling to recover from an unspecified injury picked up in training.
The injury was what ruled him out the Nigerian team for their recent games and he could yet miss the Africa Cup of Nations particularly if the injury requires surgery.
For now, he is recuperating in a tight race against time as he does not want to be ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations starting in June and taking place in Egypt.
